The Hemp Industries Association

Founded in 1994, the Hemp Industries Association (HIA) has advocated and fought for hemp businesses like ours as well as research groups and other supporters in the United States and Canada. They have a long and successful track record of protecting hemp, including challenging the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in four landmark federal cases.

Current Federal Action Regarding Hemp

Hemp-Killing Amendment Filed for Farm Bill

The Mary Miller Amendment, an amendment that would federally ban all ingestible hemp products with any level of THC, has recently been attached to two pieces of legislation: The House Farm Bill and the FY 25 Agriculture/FDA Appropriations bill – the bill that funds all agriculture programs.

This would ban Delta-8 products and any quantifiable amount of THC. This means that 90-95% of the hemp products currently on the market would be banned.
